Tutoring and Coaching

As a Certified Wired for Reading® Specialist, I provide individual instruction tailored to meet a student's needs. Careful observation and assessment of student strengths and difficulties during instructional activities allow me to continuously adapt my approach to achieve the most effective teaching strategies for your child.

I provide supportive and positive interactions, focusing on a student’s strengths and engaging those strengths in challenging tasks.  It is my conviction that student’s abilities should be respected and growth expected, encouraged, and celebrated.

I teach difficult concepts with elements of fun, incorporating  movement, storytelling,
​music, and visual imagery. My experience as anartist and dancer allow me to create lessons which engage a student's creativity, cementing learning into long term memory.  
 
While tutoring the student, I also teach parents how to coach their child in Wired for Reading® strategies.  When students graduate from me, their parents have the ability to be their child's best advocate and resource for reading as they move forward in school. I am also happy to communicate with your child's teachers with your permission.
