About Megan
I have been working with the Wired For Reading® curriculum since 2012 when my daughter began the program in second grade. I was her parent coach throughout the process and was consistently impressed by the program. I often thought to myself, “How did I ever learn to read without this information?” During the WFR work, my daughter’s phonemic awareness grew, her articulation improved, and her reading and spelling began to develop. She is now a deeply engaged student who enjoys nothing more than curling up with a novel and who publishes family newsletters for fun.
I have been working toward certification since 2014 through Wired For Reading® mentorship, coursework, and coaching families. I believe in the WFR program and its ability to make a significant difference in the educational and life experience of students who find themselves struggling with reading and spelling. I delight in seeing my students gain the sense of confidence and pride that comes from overcoming difficulty and finding fluency in reading skills. My background includes work as a graphic designer, illustrator and artist as well as teaching music and creative dance classes for very young children. I bring my love of children, my empathy for parents and the joy of creativity to my Wired For Reading work. My interests also include linguistics, early childhood development, neuroscience, and Russian history. |
